The Terrible Twos: Apple Picking

Low and behold the highly anticipated apple picking occurred today! Let's not get ahead of ourselves; I'll tell you about the whole day.

J and B had to go to a breakfast meeting so I was in charge of Mat's whole day. She was still sleeping when I started work at 8 so I went back to sleep in their hotel room (which was adjoining to mine) until she woke me up at 9:15am with the comment: "my dada bought me these jammies"!!

We ate breakfast downstairs where everyone loves her. She had cheerios and strawberries while I had chocolate chip pancakes and blueberries. It was soo nice to eat a meal and taste it while not feeling nauseous.

After breakfast we went to the VINS (Vermont Institute of Nature Science) Center. There were lots of owls, hawks, and eagles for Matilda to look at.

After the bird exhibit we went to the gift shop and Mat picked out a stuffed white Snow Owl. I wanted her to get a shirt but there weren't any good ones her size.

From the nature center we went apple picking at Riverview Farms. Matilda had her own little bag and helped pull the apples off of the tree. As she told everyone she saw, we are going to use the apples to make applesauce.

We then ate lunch at Applebees (fish and chips) and then Mat napped in the car for an hour while I drove around aimlessly. She couldn't nap in the hotel room because we had already checked out for our trip. She didn't fall asleep until 3, so when I arrived back at the hotel at 4:45 to pick up J and B, she was just waking up.

That's the end of the trip bc from there I drove us to the airport and then I boarded my flight back to Philly. Now I'm riding in the back of a taxi cab with a thoroughly creepy driver on my way home. It's cab P-1513 if I don't make it home alive. Lol. Just kidding. I'm sure I'll be fine.
