Adventure Aquarium

10/27/2011

We knew that Thursday was going to be a rainy day so Sarah and I made plans to take Jackson and Matilda to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ. I think it was actually faster to drive there than to drive to the Please Touch Museum. lol.

Needless to say the Aquarium was a lot of fun. The pictures, as usual, are all out of order. I always upload my pictures to the blog post from my phone first and then I log into it from my laptop to add in the text. My Blogger app on my iPhone doesn't allow me to post captions with the pictures and the photo commentary is my favorite part!
Just checking out the penguins. Matilda doesn't have enough base knowledge of Penguins to ask why there wasn't snow. For those of us who did ask that question when viewing this picture... These are South African penguins.
SHARK!
This is not a zoomed in picture. This crab was actually this big. It had to be over 3 feet in diameter from toe to toe!
These jelly fish were pretty cool, but there's a better picture of a more magnificent one below if you keep scrolling down.
Sarah and Jackson were completely engulfed by the vast array of fish in the tank.
Mat certainly has no fear of getting up close to the glass and check out what is going on. These fish were actually swimming in the water of the Hippo exhibit.
I was trying to get Mat to get close to Jackson so I could take a picture of them together, but she wanted to cling on to me. It's amanzing how attached she has become to me. Yes, she still says she doesn't love me but loves her mommy and Ellen, but I can appreciate that.
I kind of felt bad for these two hippos. They don't have any access to the outdoors. They were in a completely internal exhibit.
This is a more zoomed out photo of the hippo tank/fish display. As you can see, it was a really big wall of glass.
This is the awesome jellyfish picture I was talking about. I can't believe how nice of a picture my iPhone took!
Adventure Aquarium boasts about being one of America's most "touchable" aquariums. We had the opportunity to touch sting-rays and small sharks. Matilda had no interest in touching them. When I asked her if she wanted to touch them she replied: "No, you want to touch them Cherith, you can." LOL!
Mat just hanging out in the fore-ground while Sarah is in the background telling Jackson about the sharks
She, and I, was very excited to be at the aquarium!
Studying the penguiuns
More Penguins
This was one of the times she was protesting taking a picture with Jackson. She ran away and squatted down to look at the fish by herself.
Sarah petting the shark!!!
Singray!
I love this picture! She looks soo focused!
