| A month or so ago I made the connection that Matilda puts her fingers in her mouth when she is nervous or uncomfortable, especially in new situations. This connection makes a lot of sense in retrospect. Ellen had told me that Matilda just started putting her hands in her mouth the week I started working with her and continued to do so until we were all settled in Philly and she was used to her classes and teachers. Here she is sitting in a "new" art class at nest. She did not know the teacher or any of the other students. |
