Christmas Week

I can't believe 2011 is almost over. Here's a few pictures to wrap up my end of this year with Matilda. I'm sure there will be lots more pictures and adventures to come in 2012!

Checking out the train display at the Reading Terminal Market
Poor Max... He's "sick" aka got neutered on Tuesday. He's already back to his normal energy level and he does not like wearing that cone. It's a must until the stitches dissolve!
Going down the slide with sparkly monkey
Christmas light show at Macy's!
Max and his cone
Matilda and I watching the lights
She was SOO focused on the lights. She didn't like when I would try to talk to her during it.
Sparkly monkey wanted to take a picture with the three bears
This beanie baby monkey was given to her by a family having a yard sale on 7th and Pine. It is now her favorite toy. Random.

Busy week

12/21/2011

At this point all of Matilda's classes have ended for the semester and yet we find ourselves with more classes than a normal week.

Nest is offering a bunch of different classes during winter break which is awesome. Mat is getting an extra art class and two extra music classes this week!

Plus, on top of the busy schedule, it has decided to rain (yet again) and B's parents are in town for the holidays. It's definitely a whirlwind!
Trying on the hat that Grammy knitted for her. She also has a smaller, matching one for monkey.
Soo nice to have a nice day to enjoy the playground!
A month or so ago I made the connection that Matilda puts her fingers in her mouth when she is nervous or uncomfortable, especially in new situations. This connection makes a lot of sense in retrospect. Ellen had told me that Matilda just started putting her hands in her mouth the week I started working with her and continued to do so until we were all settled in Philly and she was used to her classes and teachers. Here she is sitting in a "new" art class at nest. She did not know the teacher or any of the other students.
"Lady Bug" is the newest addition to nest's free-play space. Matilda is obsessed with her and loves to bounce against her.
Hanging like a monkey!
Matilda loves the tumbling track
This picture is absolutely precious!
Our last night in Los Angeles I took Matilda to dinner while J and B had a dinner obligation. I forgot to bring crayons to entertain Mat so I improvised. I tore open the chop-sticks and we used them as if they were drum sticks. We brought those "drum sticks" home and now we'll drum to pass time. Rest assurred, Santa Claus" is bringing Matilda a real drum for Christmas.
Matilda is very facinated by my boyfriend, Jeremiah. I was texting him while she was eating her snack so she asked if we could send him a picture. This was the product.
Matilda was soo happy to be back on a playground!
Grammy brought Matilda Reindeer ears!

Bird Feeder

12/16/2001

On Friday we had Mat's friend Sarah over for a playdate and we made pine cone bird feeders. The girls really enjoyed putting their hands in the bird seed. Unfortunately this let to hundreds of seeds all over the kitchen floor. I think I'm going to be sweeping up bird seed for the next three months. All in all it was a great craft. After Sarah left, Matilda and I proceeded to make 4 more bird feeders. We hung them from the small tree that sits right outside of her nook window. I did have to re-adjust one of them because it was within Max's reach. I'm interested to see how much is left of them when I get to work tomorrow.

East Coast Time

We made it back to Philadelphia safe and sound. I'm definitely suffering from jet lag. Can't sleep at night and getting up at what feels like 4am isn't the greatest. Thankfully, Mat has been doing great. I'm praying she keeps it up:)

This blog is just a few remnant pictures from the end of our trip. I thought they were too cute to pass up.
Matilda and I made a magnet tiles tower that was taller than her. I had to put on the final row of squares
Looking all fashionable in her Calvin Klein coat
Matilda loves to pull B's briefcase.
And she had a blueberry stuck on her tooth. I was cracking up!
Thank you Grammy and Grandpa Door for the umbrella and rain boots. Thank you Renzi Properties for my 3rd floor walk-up apartment in which we were headed to in order to jump on my bed and tire Mat out.

My Adventures in California

In spite of this trip being all work travel, I did manage to have some fun. My friend Stephanie and I ate out, went to Universal CityWalk, and hiked Runyon Canyon (where I saw David Arquette).
We went to a comedy show at Universal CityWalk
We hiked up Runyon Canyon. The views were gorgeous and we were all very sore after!
