When I student taught 1st grade we spent time every morning studying the weather. My host teacher and I wanted to make sure that our students were about to make inferences about the weather and how it affected their lives. Those kids were 6, Matilda can do this at 30 months.
This morning, and many mornings lately, Matilda looked out at the sunny, blue sky and exclaimed: "It's a beautiful day!" She'll also look outside and say "It's not raining!"
It was, indeed, a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun today.
