Wow November is flying by! Things are still going really well. Matilda is starting to test me a little more but am not budging when it comes to discipline. I'm definitely firm with her. I don't tolerate any disrespect, which is a rarity anyways. *knock on wood*.
I must say I'm definitely having a lot of fun. Matilda and I have been spending more time working on her letters and numbers and have taken a step back from colors. I'm constantly seeking opportunties to do a formative assessment with her colors and use our outdoor adventures as learning experiences.
I must say, she has been dropping things a lot lately. When we were walking to Barnes and Noble on Wednesday, she pulled out her barrette and dropped it right in the middle of Broad Street. For those of you who don't know Philadelphia, Broad Street is a 4 lane road and serves as the main throughway for North to South of Philadelphia. Going back across Broad Street to search for a barrette was not an option. Mat needed more barrettes anyways so I went into CVS and bought her a pack of 10 black snap barrettes. The ones like I used to plaster all over my head in middle school. Mat insisted on holding onto them so I let her. Well by the time we got home (after dark), the barrettes were gone.... I have no idea when or where she dropped them. Thankfully she hasn't lost anything important, yet.

| Matilda started a new art class at the Philly Art Center and it is AWESOME! Her teacher is very knowledgeable! |
| Every week they color, glue, paint, and then play with clay. The evenly distributed 15-minute intervals are great for their attention spans. |
| That's Jackson in the green. He is in this class with Matilda. |
| For a final, wrap-up activity, the kids got to draw on the mirror with window markers. They thought it was pretty cool. |
| "Color with me, Cherith, color with me" was what she was most likely saying or getting ready to say.... |
| Early November and fall has finally hit. Appartenly all the leaves are already off the trees at home. |
| She climbed up this monkey bar ladder all by herself. She's definitely getting better at climbing. She hardly ever shows hesitation on any of the playground obstacles. |
| I was holding her foot so she wouldn't slip off but she was otherwise hanging all by herself. |

| Playing with Magnet Tiles in Matida's room. This has become a favorite closing activing to do with her at night if I don't have any last minute cooking to finish up. |
I was wondering if she was even listening to the Spanish CD while playing with her Magnet Tiles. To my amazement she points to her mouth and says "my boca"!
