| We went with Henry and Hadie to Barnes and Noble. Matilda and Henry enjoyed playing with the trains on the table. The woman sitting on the far left with the ipad in her lap definitely caused some tension/drama. Her son, in the green and grey stripe shirt was bullying other kids (thankfully not Mat or Henry). He was pushing them and taking their trains. His mom just sat there on her phone and iPad doing who knows what. It was beyond entertaining to see the other nannies and moms call her out for not watching her child and being a "bad parent". She just kept claiming that kids will be kids and that the other caregivers shouldn't be making a big deal out of her son's behavior. All I can say is WOW> |

| Mat was on edge all afternoon. She was soo excited about our trip that she didn't get a nap which threw off her mood for the rest of the evening. I was thankful that she cheered up once we got settled into the hotel room and went to grab some pizza for dinner. Ellen had mentioned it before, but it becomes more and more evident to me in stressful situations that Mat feeds off of our energies. From the second we arrived at the train station we were rushing. We had 10 minutes to get ONTO the train. Mat immediately started crying and continued to until we were on the train which was when we all breathed easy. She again started crying once we got into the cab because she could sense the tension of us needing to get to the hotel and then J and B getting off to their dinner obligations. In the future, I am going to be more persistent on allowing extra time to get to our destination in order to ensure that Mat has enough time to transition between the different components of the trip (car, train, taxi, hotel, etc.) |

| I've never had her fall asleep on me. It was adorable. After eating two peices of pizza, she completely fell asleep in her chair. After paying for dinner with my memorized debit card number (I had left my credit card at the front desk by accident), I carried her sleeping self back to the hotel. The wetness on her pants is from her water at dinner. The restaurant we went to didn't have kids cups and Mat totally spilled her water down her front. Thankfully it was just water. |

| Good morning Manhattan |

| My best guy friend Jeremiah came to visit me while I was in Manhattan. He was completely entranced by how smart she is. He just kept asking her questions so that he could hear her answer them. Then he (a NYC native) proceeded to point out the various buildings in the distance and tell her what they were. This went on for a solid 5 minutes. It was priceless to watch! |
