Cape Cod
Well we've been at the beach house for 10 days now. Mat has really been enjoying it and Max absolutely LOVES it. He clearly was not cut out to be an urban dog. He meanders inside and out all day long.
Mat does a variety of things. We do spend a lot of time playing in the sand. To escape the monotony of that, I have a ongoing contest to see how big of a pool I can dig out. It's a pretty pathetic game to play with myself.
We went to storytime at the library last Thursday. It was really good. Lots of music and stories. The theme this past week was all about lighthouses. We also stumbled upon Puma Park. A playground behind the community building there. Mat really enjoyed that.
I think I finally have Mat on a good schedule. Breakfast at 8:30, snack around 10:15 and lunch at noon. This has her in bed for nap around 1pm. The afternoon is up to her parents. That's when I spend about an hour relaxing and then do laundry, dishes, dinner, etc. This week was really busy as we had B's best friend and her family were visiting. Thank God my best friend Steph, who came to visit, was willing to help me do the food prep so everyone else could relax.
That's all for now. Enjoy the pictures.

Welfleet Nature Center
Today Mat and I went to the local nature center. It was a beautiful day and there were lots of things to see.
We saw turtles as well as turtle nests. We also saw lots of butterflies in the garden and fish in the interior fish tanks. It was a fun adventure. We even bumped into one of Mat's old teachers from the JCC in DC. Small world.
Today we also learned that Max can tow us through the water. We have deemed this "dog skiing".

Circus Smirkus
This traveling New England children's circus was in town this weekend. Performers range from age 10-18. There were a few points were Mat said she was scared, but at the end she asked if she could go back. I'm not ashamed to admit that I totally loved the show. I cannot remember the last time I went to the circus.

The Beach
Today Mat's grandparents took us to a local Boston beach. Matilda absolutely loved it and would have stayed there all day has she not needed a nap. There was so a huge storm rolling in about 3pm as we were loading up.
Beyond tired and sad about leaving the beach, Matilda had a huge tantrum. She wanted her Grammy to keep telling her stories and we told her no because she needed to nap. Keep in mind that this was 3 hours after she had fallen asleep yesterday. Mat and tired do not mix well.
Tomorrow we are going to the Boston Children's Museum and I'm sure that she will love it.
